Yemeni shoes trace their origins to Yemen, where they were first crafted by Yemen-i Ekber in the 14th century, before spreading to Anatolia through trade routes, particularly via Aleppo. Over time, they expanded across Asia and Europe through Turkic cultural routes. Deeply rooted in Anatolian craftsmanship, these traditional leather shoes, still mainly produced in Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, and Kilis, reflect the region’s artisanal heritage and emphasis on natural, breathable footwear.
