Cut from one hundred per cent silk, and only from silk that already existed.
Each run begins with what is left after a collection is finished — lengths of silk too small to build a garment from, too good to discard. A bucket hat takes very little cloth, which is exactly why it is the piece that gets made from the remainder.
The shape itself has no Anatolian lineage and the brand makes no claim that it does. It is a twentieth-century form. What it carries instead is the brand's production logic: the number made is decided by how much silk was left, not by a forecast, so a colour appears once and does not return.
Aslı Filinta stopped ordering new fabric for collections in 2017 and has produced from remaining stock since. These are genuinely limited without being marketed as limited — the edition size is simply arithmetic.
